The Pantry
Pantry Staples that are a must have in our Southern - Italian Kitchen.
In my pantry I have it organized by zones. This way everything is at hands reach.
In the baking area I keep most of my baking ingredients.
Baking Center Pantry checklist:
All purpose flour
Cake Flour
Yellow cornmeal
Baking soda
Baking powder
Sugar
Truvia
Brown sugar
Confectioners sugar
Maple syrup (the real stuff)
Vanilla extract, pure
Lemon extract, pure
Vegetable oil
My Tomato Pantry: (all canned or jarred of coarse)
*San Marzano whole, canned plum tomatoes
These are all purpose. If I need puree, I toss the tomatoes in the blender.
*Jarred Pasta Sauce
Canned and Dried Beans, Lentils, & Grains Shelf:
Garbanzo beans, canned
Cannelli beans, canned
Black beans, canned
Dried lentils
Cornmeal
Grits
Dried Pastas:
I have a variety of semolina, whole wheat, and vegetable pastas.
I am huge Wacky Mac fan.
Rice:
Arborio rice
Jasmine rice
Brown rice
Basmatti rice
In the Refrigerator:
Fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheeses
Carrots
Celery
By the stove top:
EVVO, Extra virgin olive oil
Black pepper
White pepper
Hot red pepper flakes
Cayenne pepper
Dried bay leaves
Dried basil
Dried thyme
Apple cider vinegar
Red wine vinegar
Soy sauce
Worcestershire sauce
The Onion basket:
Shallots
Garlic
Sweet onions
Red onions
The Potato Bin:
Red potatoes
Baking potatoes
